![]() I’m feeling that song because yesterday I was with my son Najee as he prepared to pick up his children, Najee and Lyric, for the summer. Then he says, “Love/ through all the ups and downs the joys and hurts, love/ better or worse I still will chose you first.” Simply meaning that it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. He says, “Love/ though many people use your name in vain.” Meaning, people will profess to love you then proceed to use and abuse you. I think he’s talking about unconditional love. I think that he’s talking about the emotion of love itself. That the word love, God/Lord are interchangeable since God is love. I was told that the song is a dedication to God. It’s from his album Aijuswanaseing released in 2000. ![]() ![]() The song that comes to mind right now is Love by Musiq Soulchild.
